Here’s the winning entry for ‘Do you think mothers make better women leaders?’, for our Mother’s Day contest, in association with Sheroes:
“By default, mothers are more accustomed to multitask than their male counterparts. By default, mothers are more versatile, more disciplined and more punctual. Yet, their greatest trait is their high endurance level.
It is their ability to bear physical pain (child birth, period, etc.) as well as the occasional mental agony (domestic abuse, ill-treatment by in-laws or the usual worries of an anxious mom) and that too with a blithe smile that ingrains stronger leadership qualities in them.
Albus Dumbledore’s words seem so apt for the occasion- “It is a curious thing, Harry, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it.”
