If there has been one team whose fortunes have depended on a single individual so far this season, it is the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Their batting is a big concern, and thus far, as in previous seasons, captain David Warner has led from the front, and how. A prolific opening batsman, Warner in four of the five innings he has played in this season has scored 58, 90 not out, 74 not out, and 59. Off the back of his innings, other batsmen have had an opportunity to regain form, and with fellow opener Shikhar Dhawan starting to play well, and Eoin Morgan stabilizing the middle order, the SRH are in reasonably good shape. The SRH have a strong bowling lineup with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Trent Boult and rising star Mustafizur Rahman, the left arm pace bowler from Bangladesh. With all-rounder Moises Henrique playing a significant role, and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson available to contribute, there is more good news in May. Their core batsman and new acquisition Yuvraj Singh was ruled out for the first month of this IPL because of an ankle injury. He is due to return in time for the May 6th fixture against the Gujarat Lions, and that could be the much-needed stimulus to help propel the SRH into the top three or four this season. They are currently in the middle of the pack, and over the next leg of the IPL, would hope to do much better. A stabilized batting lineup could help turn the tide in IPL 2016.
